Caffé Abbracci celebrates 20 years and a Nino Pernetti's Lifetime of Achievements with Champagne and a Special Menu

MIAMI, FL – May 27, 2009 - This June, Caffe Abbracci celebrates twenty years since it opened its doors with a special menu designed by Nino Pernetti, owner, and a glass of Perrier Jouet Reserve. The triumph of Caffe Abbracci, evidently attributable to its traditional Italian haute cuisine, also echoes Nino Pernetti’s work and travels in the world’s most prestigious hotels.

The 20th Anniversary Menu will include a glass of champagne Perriet Jouet Reserve and a specially designed menu by Nino Pernetti. Patrons will have the choice between Norwegian Salmon in a champagne and mustard sauce, and Veal Scaloppine in wild mushrooms and Marsala sauce for entrée, always with an Italian twist. Featured appetizer will be a Penne with pink sauce and petit pois while dessert will offer a delightful La Parisienne, an authentic sweet brioche, filled with lusciously fluffy chocolate-vanilla cream topped with crunchy rock sugar. For those watching their figure: light and refreshing fruit sorbet. Prix fixe menu is set at $35 and will be served during the month of June only.

Since June 15, 1989, Nino Pernetti has welcomed dignitaries from the four corners of the world to Caffe Abbracci. With his unmistakable charm and elegance, typical of his native Venezia in Italy’s Northern region, and his unique flare for the perfect personal touch, Nino has made each personality’s visit, be by Don King or Rudy Giuliani, an event to remember and share forever. From being tied up by Antonio Banderas and Victoria Abril (spoof on “Tie me Up! Tie me Down!” movie) to sharing a bottle (or two) of wine with no one other than Oprah Winfrey, from an impromptu performance of “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera’s lead singer Keith Buterbaugh to private dinners with Brazilian four-time Formula One champion Ayrton Senna – Nino’s gracefulness has proven to be prized by celebrities but also by his local patrons.

In celebration of Caffe Abbracci’s twentieth Anniversary, Nino Pernetti also wrote a book titled: “Nino Pernetti’s Caffe Abracci Cookbook – His Life Story and Travels Around the World.” In this beautiful book, Nino recounts his travels and life experiences from his childhood until he settled in Miami in 1982.

Leading to his success, Nino Pernetti worked in all six continents. His adventures started in Merano, about 200 miles North of Venice, in 1965 as a busboy and, very swiftly, rising through the ranks to become food and beverage manager in Acapulco in 1971. During those years he experienced Germany, England, The Bahamas, Afghanistan, Zambia and South Korea. After attending Cornell University during the summer of 1972, he continued to conquer the world of the rich and famous with his charisma and attention to minutiae running luxury hotels throughout Asia, Europe and South America for another eleven years before arriving in Miami in 1982.

Nino Pernetti was undeniably born to be a host.

"Caffe Abbracci is the result of what I’ve learned throughout my career and personal life, and applied to not only the food we serve but to the way we care for our guests: simply thoughful," shares Nino Pernetti, owner of Caffe Abbracci.

Twenty years later, commitment to perfection is still a signature of the Coral Gables award-winning destination from greeting to dining. Caffe Abbracci accomplishes the impossible by bringing Italy’s truly most celebrated essentials together in harmony from tradition and family to haute cuisine and romance.

"Every vibrant city has a place where the "movers and shakers" gather to address the current agenda of both world and local affairs," reflects City of Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick. "The discussions range from the philosophical to the practical and capture the passions of the moment. In Coral Gables the setting is made perfect by an attentive, cordial staff coupled with gourmet cuisine. This description applies to our very own: Café Abracci. Nino, "CONGRATULATIONS" on 20 great years of success with your wonderful restaurant – keep up the good work. The City Beautiful would not be the important international crossroads that it is without your presence.
